Description:
Another Chatham County student has been diagnosed with viral meningitis, this time at Georgetown Elementary. School officials won’t say what grade the child is in, but they do say they got word yesterday from the student’s parents. School officials spent the day disinfecting the school and teaching children some preventative measures. “We sent out a letter encouraging parents to wash hands, it helps eliminate any infections,” said school nurse Pam Smith. This is the second case of viral meningitis diagnosed in Chatham County this week. Tuesday, a second grade boy at May Howard was also diagnosed.
