In a normal non radioactively contaminated population, less than 1 in 1 million children have thyroid problems. Basically, the rate of thyroid cancer was zero before the nuclear age.

Nowadays, the health authorities use the ever increasing worsening of health as the new ‘normal’. Each year the baseline that the next year get compared to gets worse. There seems to be no limit on moving this baseline in a worse direction Certainly, around Fukushima and Chernobyl, there is no connection between the nuclear accidents and the worsening rate of thyroid problems. Some pro nuclear apologists will even go so far as to say that children’s thyroid problems and cancer rates have always been like this.

Is it any surprise that since the Fukushima mega nuclear disaster, almost half of all children in Fukushima city had thyroid abnormalities when tested in 2012? This public health disaster is the direct result of the Fukushima mega nuclear disaster.

The same public health disaster (and coverup) happened after Chernobyl and other nuclear disasters, so this huge rise in thyroid problems among children is nothing unusual. However, doctors in the region are blaming the mothers, stress or anything but Fukushima. In the above video, a mother takes her daughter in for a thyroid test. In Fukushima, her daughter was said to be completely healthy, with no thyroid problems, but at a private hospital further away from the nuclear disaster, her daughter showed up with cysts on the thyroid gland. Is this systemic, or just one missed diagnosis?

General aspects of radiation injury to the thyroid gland, and the well documented history of the Chernobyl accident in April 1986 and its consequences, have been extensively reviewed31,32 and will not be discussed at any significant length here. Suffice it to say that a strong dose response curve has been observed based upon reconstructions of estimated radiation dosage exposure and dietary iodine intake. Cardis et al30 examined the records of children who were of age.

The increased incidence clearly related to the nuclear accident, with incidence rates of thyroid cancer in children at Belarus. “Other examples of thyroid malignancies, again typically only PTC, may develop as a result of radiation fallout due to nuclear weapons testing. Kerber et al33 studied 2473 individuals who had been exposed as children to fallout from nuclear weapons testing and who received doses ranging from 0-4600 mGy and averaging 170 mGy. They found a statistically significant increase in both benign and malignant thyroid lesions, with a 400 mGy exposure being associated with a 3.4-fold relative risk. Both benign and malignant thyroid nodules were also well documented due to the fallout over the Marshall Islands in 1954.34 Indeed, thyroid cancer was the first malignancy discovered to have been associated with the atomic bombs dropped at Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and the presence of thyroid cancer in survivors could be directly linked to that exposure.35,36

The new study shows that radiation exposures are also associated with distinct clinical features that are more aggressive,” said the paper’s first author, Lydia Zablotska, MD, PhD, associate professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at UC San Francisco (UCSF). The paper will be published online Tuesday, Oct. 28, in the journal Cancer.

Zablotska said the findings have implications for those exposed to radioactive iodine fallout from the 2011 nuclear reactor incidents in Fukushima, Japan, after the reactors were damaged by an earthquake-induced tsunami.

“Those exposed as children or adolescents to the fallout are at highest risk and should probably be screened for thyroid cancer regularly, because these cancers are aggressive, and they can spread really fast,” Zablotska said. “Clinicians should be aware of the aggressiveness of radiation-associated tumors and closely monitor those at high risk.”

Via jec November 7, 2014 “Again, I point out my daughter, exposed to Chernobyl radiation, whose ‘teen years’ exposure likely caused HER thyroid cancer. Of course, her doctor in the USA..just ignored her complaints as she got sick, tired and gained tremendous amount of weight. No tests were done until got until the tumor stuck out and she was close to Stage 4. The tumor was outside the thyroid and showed up in scans in her lungs. Surgery left her throat damaged, voice weak, swallow weak, and parathyroids damaged.

She cannot control her calcium levels in her body..likely this will affect her bones in later years. She is supposed to have scans and radiation every three years, but OBAMACARE says shes ‘in remission’ and only needs it five years as the test and radiation are expensive. She can not control her weight, and the thyroid medications she is on, work poorly, she is tired and feels ill most of the time . She has blood tests every few months..and has been facing this for close to 10 years as a young woman.

So I guess she is a good example of NOT testing for thyroid disease..cancer outside the gland, lots of scans, lots of meds,lots of hospital visits/surgery, lots of followups, pain/illness..AND this is what the doctors want? Guess they really want the patients to be terminal due to thyroid cancer so they can save money and just offer pallative care or ‘hurry up and die’ pain management.”
