The Independent, Aug 16, 2015 (emphasis added): Japan’s weather agency issued a warning… that the likelihood of the eruption of [Sakurajima] was extremely high… after it detected a spike in seismic activity… They have warned an evacuation of the city of just over 600,000 people may be necessary. [JMA] said: “The possibility for a large-scale eruption has become extremely high for Sakurajima.”… It comes as a nuclear reactor 50 kilometres (31 miles) away was switched back on.

Jiji Press, Aug 12, 2015: Sendai nuclear power plant… has not designated a site for relocating nuclear fuel in the event of a massive volcanic eruption, claiming that warning signs would give Kepco enough time to prepare and transfer the fuel… In the event of a major eruption, however, pyroclastic flows could reach the plant and disable cooling functions… which could trigger massive radioactive emissions… The sheer volume [of spent fuel] makes it hard to find a relocation site big enough to take them… Toshitsugu Fujii, a member of the panel [advising the gov’t] said that the panel’s opinion is not necessarily consistent with that of the NRA.

When it comes to Japan, and the amount of radiation that continues to spew from Fukushima, I view it all very doom and gloom, so have gotten to where I try not to let my sentiments on the subject come across. I have bitched and moaned, and voiced my opinion repeatedly for years. I had to accept not everyone cares. But it continues to get worse, and the Pacific Ocean is now rebelling as well. I guess, when there is nothing left in the Pacific Ocean, maybe everyone who is sleeping on it, will awaken. I don’t know. I will never understand why all the countries have not pulled together to try to make it end. But I guess that would be asking too much.
Japan for years now, has not really even tried to find a fix. Yea, the ice wall, but that failed, and was too little too late.

It is strange that world powers have not come together to find a fix. This is the problem I have with nuclear power if a mishap happens who is there that can actually fix/ clean it up? It appears based on Fukushima nobody can? I know it has been poisoning fish which make it to the markets here in the states. But what pray tell is being done about it.

Nothing. At first, they tried to ignore it, hoping it would go away. Then they tried to convince everyone that it was not affecting America. Then, they tried to say that it was not affecting the Ocean.
Then when all these whales suddenly appear off CA coast, they talk about unprecedented, never seen so many that time of year, asking what could they be doing there, they were actually going up to boats as if they had something to say.
Like dduuuuhhhh. Why are you killing us? Why are you killing the oceans? Why don’t you do something?
These are mammals that have very, very long life spans. Their intelligence cannot be comphrehended by man. Man thinks that all animals are dumb, that man is the most intelligent of all species on earth. Humans (not necessarily men), are arrogant assholes that destroy everything they touch. They kill, they pollute, they abuse.
So, in reality, I think the whales and other marine life, came to CA coast to try to get help. We have let the earth down. We have polluted with that which cannot go away in our lifetimes. And for what?
Radiation kills. Period. We cannot control it, we cannot dispose of it. They build these damned plants on fault lines. How responsible is that?
